Don't get so mad bro. I had toda cams in my car and yes, they are louder. When warming up the car, it clacks like crazy. It sounds really bad, like your car is gonna blow up or something. But after that, it sounds pretty stock. Some people don't like the idle chracterisitcs of the toda cams, but i personally love them.

Actually, I'd like to know the same thing. I'm about to purchase a set, but wouldn't want to get pulled over for my car being so loud again, and have to deal with a smog referee in California again. I know what you're thinking..."then don't get em".

It is a lot louder than my old CTR's but only when on Vtec. Idle and below Vtec is just like stock...Keeps me from gunning it more than i should...

My Civic is louder with the Toda's. I have a CAI, and when VTEC kicks in it roars. The car also smokes the tires in first gear, no matter what RPM it is at when the throttle is nailed, and that is kind of loud.
Yes they are going to be slightly louder than stock due to the increased induction of air. (Volume dependent on current intake and/or exhaust.)
In fact, any camshaft is going to be louder, per se, if they are of a different grind than OEM that allows more air to move inside the combustion chamber.

i assume you mean loud transition from primary lobe to secondary lobe, if so then no, the spec B/C/D cams don't produce as loud a note as CTR/ITR/spec A cams due, all because of the big cam specs.
Funny i actually knew what you meant, cause you'd be surprised how many customers ask that, and i guess it means a lot to them when they hear VTEC ???

What are you basing this on, because it really isn't true. The x-over doesn't "sound" nearly as drastic as stock ITR cams.

clacker noise is what i have with a messed up cat. mine idles at 1500 right now so there is definitely a problem with something. my engine light came on. didn't check the codes....
I am thinking about going with a toda valve train and the killer spec c cams in the future.

Killer cams are one type of cam. Spec c's are another. Prepare to spend $ with either.

Bob, I think he's planning to run Killer Intakes and Spec C exhaust cams.

Lol, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea for your set-up, Len. Be an innovator, be original. Let us know how it goes, then try c's on the intake and killers on the exhaust side. Please post dyno graphs a.s.a.p.
