Installed Spec B's TODAy
spec b's are in and im
.
noticed a few things...wont really hold an idle as well as before, this isnt much of a suprise to me. im used to the car idle-ing at 750 rpm... should i bring it up a little with these cams ?right now tis at 1200rpm wich i think is to high, but im going to readjust as soon as i here from some of you guys
next...
how should i time the new cams... meaning distributer timming....should i stay factory and just time it according to helms ? or should i advnce or retard it ? i tried to time it to factory specs and it seems to be running a little rough...any advice..
thanks

I would set timing at factory specs. Probably 18degrees which is within factory specs. I would also set the idle to factory specs to which is I believe 750+/- 50rpm. If you have trouble keeping a steady idle there then you need tuning. If Jack can tune VTEC Killers w/ ITB's to idle between 800-1000 I think you'll be fine with B's. Goodluck.
oh theres no doubt it deffinatly needs tunning, i was just asking for the time being purpuses till i get it on a dyno...but thanks for yourt response, now i know what to shoot for. later
