no speedo...should v-tec pop?

Default no speedo...should v-tec pop?

hey guys i was wondering if my speedo on my b16 crx isnt hooked up will the vtec sill pop?...my friend has and eg h22 and he said when his speedo wasnt hooked up the vtec didnt pop

Vtec Pop? You mean engaging VTEC? I am not sure. I think it needs the reading from the speedometer to your VSS... but don't take my word.

unless you either have a chipped ecu, or vtec controller. it wont "pop" with the speedo not working.

it will not come on, and throw a code 17, The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) tells the ecu to turn on the VTec above 25mph, and at the set Vtec x- over.
