It depends on who techs your car, but if the inspector can make the battery wobble he/she probably won't pass your car.

If your battery can move while the car is turning or braking you probably won't pass inspection. It's a safety hazard isn't it? Just find something to hold it down, it's mainly for your own safety, why wouldn't you?

go to your local hardware store (ie: Home Depot, Lowes, Ace) and buy a ? length of all thread rod and cut down to size. Nuts or bend the bottom end.

They actually sell those rods at any store that sells batteries. Like Kragen, Auto Zone, Walmart, etc.

Now just why in the hell would you want to toss your car around with the battery loose anyway?

Dood. Use a little common sense. OF COURSE the battery needs to be secure.

I do believe that having your battery securely attached is one of the main points of inspection.

while we are talking about tech inspections... im going to lowes next weekend. to do the hyperdrive, they are doing a "small" tech inspection. i replaced my pads today, lights work, battery is tied down, umm, enough tire tread.. just my horn doesnt work. anything else i should check over?

do i need a horn to take 1-2 laps?

Perhaps your fluids? Oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.

Other than that, it seems fine.
