90-91 to 92-95 dizzy swap question
went to scrap yard today for 90-91 dizzy but none there. but there was a couple of 92-95 civics there and I was wondering if I can swap a dizzy off them onto a 90 si " I checked the wires and they all match up" can anyone help any info would be great
Nope, don't even bother to rewire it.
The OBD0 ECU you have is not compatible with the OBD1 distributor.
Short of you opening the OBD1 distributor and replacing the sensors inside, the OBD1 just will not work.
It has to do with the number of pulses per revolution on the magnetic pick up of the sensors. the OBD0 uses fewer than the OBD1.

Don't quote me cause I'm certainly not positive about it, you'll need further
confirmation. The internal sensors do fire at a different pulse rate. So, the OBD1 dizzy and the OBD0 dizzys cannot be swapped or made to be compatible, but maybe you could put the OBD0 guts into an OBD1 dizzy housing. That is the part I'm not sure about. Post and ask. HTH
