B18A 1/4 Mile Times.. Good or Not?
I ran my 1990 CRX DX last night at the track. It was my first time ever. Just let me know what you guys think I could do to improve my times. It has a B18A which is all stock except for an intake. I was running my stock exhaust with holes in it also. Tires were crappy Road Huggers lowered to 15 PSI on 14 inch steelies. Tranny is a USDM LS YS1.

That front psi is too low. I go to about 26 psi in my fronts. You have a horrible 60'... practice your launch. Find out what RPM your car likes best when you launch (ie too high and you spin, too low and you bog)... and practice driving!
When I first ran my 60' was a 2.3 and I launched at 2. Every time I launcehed higher( 2.5 and 3) the 60' was worse. The slip I posted I launched at 2. When I launch at 2 I get wheel spin about half way through first. What else should I try lanuching at?
Are you launching right? You're not supposed to dump the clutch... or if you do, let the tires hook first and THEN floor it. This is how I do it: 4200 rpm... dump the clutch, tires spin a bit, wait until they hook, then I floor it... otherwise I'll just spin.
you should be pullin lower times than that with a rex, even with that 60' time. i agree with the on the tires, put more air in em, also practice you launches, some people like to slip their clutches when they launch, it gives them a more controlled launch, but just practice and see what your car likes best
