We were crusing the local strip tonight and i ran into a white EP3. The car looked pretty clean so I pulled up next to him and asked him what he had in it, he said he swapped a Type S head onto it, i was trying to get him to get on it but he didn't. I've heard that its a pretty difficult mod to put a type s head onto the ep3, if its even possible. So what do you guys think?

 

It's possible - SuperStreet (I think) did it not that long ago.
IMO, it's not really worth it, as you spend nearly as much
for the head and extras (you also need the ECU and some
other stuff) as you would just buying a complete K20A2.

I guess you still have slightly lower compression, though.

 

It's actually skunk racing's car, and it's a direct bolt on. Same intake, diff exhaust . Need ecu program, go hondata anyways. I'm looking for this head right now. Eventually I'll be running the type-s heads, with toda or crane cams and the k24 bottom end. Love the frankenstein.

 

The k24/k20a2 frankenstien is an awesome setup. The k20a3/a2 turbo is a side project of mine right now. Actually its more of an idea rolling around in my head.

 

Yea, Im setting up rite now for the same thing (k24bottom/k20a2 head/6-speed tranny). But I dont know weather to build it NA or get a SUPERCHARGER?

 

hehe by the time I actually start my ep-t hybrid I might actually have a welder that I can use to build my own turbo manifold. It ought to be fun though
