Oil Cooling - negligable or visible benefits on dyno
I've got an oil cooler and relocation kit in my car which I recently broke while I was preparing my car yesterday. Due to a broken housing and an unavailibility of a replacement in time (due to the blackout) I will be not running this oil cooler for my dyno tuning session. I am wondering if the cooler oil would actually reduce cylinder temperatures enough to enabe the tuner to be able to slightly increase the timing just enough to extract more power. Or would the difference in oil temperature have negligable effects on the cylinder temperature, thus really making no difference for dyno tuning?
Thanks
Thanks
No way...Hot Oil looses viscosity though after a certain point, though. Your best bet would be to try and reduce air tempurates and flow. Cool Oil isnt going to let you increase timing...
