What size injectors to get? 600+/- whp planning
alright..i'm currnetly running 550cc injectors and have a set of bosch 1600cc injectors laying around. I was told by the tuner that 1600cc is really way OVER kill and should get something smaller so the car won't idle funny. What size you guys think i should get ? 870cc or I should just stick w/ the 1600cc ones I have?

I would run 850cc, and u can get them hella cheap at http://www.hondacamp.com, if you didn't already have that. And you can get them for 265.00 shipped.

Has anyone been able to get these/similar injectors to idle with hondata?

My opinion, for what its worth....
a little cliche for you: if you have to ask the price you can't afford it.
meaning: if you 'really' don't know the answer, 600whp is further away from you than you think.
4 x 550's are good to ~ 300-350 whp (depends on your BSFC)
so you want ~600whp you'll need 1000-1100cc injectors. (quite simple)
Just a little logic here: If you don't trust your tuner's opionion enough to
size injectors, why would you trust him to be able to tune
your ~600whp 'monster'? (you implied that you won't be tuning this yourself)

ONce again, 850cc injectors will do you set up fine and there very inexpensive at 265.00 shipped, you can't beat that. And the idle fine. Haven't heard to many stories with the 1000cc injectors idling well or not so i couldn't comment on that.
I'd hold on to your 1600's (if you don't, could I buy them?) - somebody here said they set their idle ~1300rpm to maintain a good idle with these injectors. I wish there were a few more options between the 96lb and 160lb injectors aside from the 1200cc RC's which are a bit over priced. It comes down to what sort of duty cycles you are comfortable with as well as fuel pressure - personally I'd rather run the biggest injector possible that still allows you to maintain a reasonable idle. Headroom is always a gooood thing when it comes to setting up a fuel system. You probably wouldn't want to try getting 750hp out of 4 850cc injectors unless you triple your stock fuel pressure (kidding) - if I remember correctly, supras can get up around 800whp with 850's, but they have two more injectors than we do. And that was with a decent amount more fuel pressure as well. With the AEM you could use a JG intake mani for an 8 injector setup, but that is more trouble than it's worth when all you'll have to settle for with the 1600cc's is a slightly higher idle.
idling @ 1300rpm wouldn'te bother me much..but what i'm afraid is that its way too much for my use..i got a deal to trade w/ a guy for 96lbs (1000cc +/-) think i should go w/ that instead of 1600cc?

I stated 1000 because you'd rather have more than enough, than be pushing it.
I'm curious to see what duty cycle you would be at and what fuel pressure getting 550whp on 800 something injectors.
I've seen 550's get 350 whp at 80% duty cycle.
I've seen 780's get 450 whp at 80% duty cycle.
Using that logic, I thought the 800's would be around 80% duty cycle at 550whp. Therefor reaching their safe maximum limit. So why not have the extra insurance of the 1000cc's?
