Default Progress Camber kit for CRX. Any good?

I'm organising a group buy on these for the UK CRX group, nothing is certain yet until i hear some feedback-hopefully good of this product.

A run down of the installation process would come in handy too.

If anyone has pics, please post them.

Thanks guys,

John

good if you have up to -1.5 degrees camber.....but if you're like me and have -3.5 then they aren't that great....

TOP shelf stuff. I have it and am 100% satisfied. It is non adjustable but it puts your camber well within a usable (non tire wearing). Plus, being non-adjustable, you don't have to worry about it coming out of adjustment after hitting a pot hole or a curb.

Installition is a snap. just make sure you have your alignment checked after you put it on.

to a great product.

non adjustable? Hmmmmmm

never knew that.

Does it just replace the top arm?

How much did you get it for $$$$$$$?

Thanks,

John

it doesnt replace the entire arm, its a ball joint style kit

its a decent kit if you dont need that much adjustment, I picked mine up a while ago for a previous EF for $105 out the door

Non adjustable but it has 2 settings.. I think it's one for a 1 to 1.5 inch drop and the other is from 1.5 to 2.3 inches.

Yea i still have -2.5 degree camber in the front with the progress kit in. The bushings in the camber kit make like a squeaking/creaking noise whenever i hit a bump. My bushings are yellow and are greased up....anyone else have this noise? A friend of mine has the exact same kit as mine and his too make the same noise.

Drop by both the Specialty Products and Ingalls websites for some fairly detailed info on the various pieces that are available. I have nothing against Progress as they use very similar designs.

I have them and I have no problems with them at all. Like stated abouve they are a 2 position non adjustable. I have my CRX lowered at a damn near impractical level and the camber looks pretty close to spec. I never measured it but I'm sure the allignment shop would have bitched if it was way out of wack. I like the simplicity and the solid non-adjustable design. As for the squeeking who cares I have a ES Master Kit installed, you wanta talk about squeeks?

Well the squeaks/creaks are very annoying while riding in the car. It makes my car sound like its a '69 hatch rather then a '89. I dont see how u have it lowered as low as u say and the camber looks near spec, with the kit installed of course. If your CRX was that low (by the sound of it i take it its dumped) wouldnt the top of the tire now hit the underside of the fender lip? get what im saying? I too have the ES master bushing kit installed and i have NO squeaks at all. Funny how we have the exact opposite place of squeaks...

Yeah maybe you are right that might be where the squeeks are coming from. Unforyunitly yes I have hit my fenders while turning a couple of time. I decided to crank it up about 1/2" after that. I've got to do some paint work on the car now also. The squeeks really don't bother me a whole lot they only really do it at slow speeds under large bumps.

Yeah it is probally about the same height right now. I have a couple of old pictures, it is right in between them right now. When I had the 17" rims it was really hammered. Then I fucked up my fender and raised it some. The 15" rim pic was right before the Niagra meet and I cranked it up for a more comfy ride. It is right between the two pics right now.

Unfortunately Progress is the only company that makes camber kits for CRX. Don't ask me why but that's what my bro tells me. I wanted to get Eibach but Progress was the only choice I had. I don't know much about the company but it seems that all my brother's friends use them. So that's got to count for something.

A couple months after installing my Greddy SP2 the hooks underneath the exhaust would scape upon going into my mechanics shop. I had him change the timing belt before and it didn't scrape as I exited the slope. Now I see these scrape markings on the slope.

I went to Sears Auto Body shop and had one of the tech guys look at my car. Just by looking at it he told me I need to go to one of those custom shops to get my toe adjusted and I have negative camber ( if memory serves me correctly ). Ideally he said that my vehicle is supposed to have zero camber. He seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. I couldn't contradict him because I don't know much about cars. So I asked questions.

Contrary to my brother's old HB he didn't need a camber kit for his. Mine has a tendency to move to the right. The tech guy at Sears threw out all these terms and I couldn't make any sense of it. He said that all cars that are lowered are affected with negative camber. So the guys who drop theirs pre-maturely wear out their tires. They just keep buying new tires. My worst nightmares was for mine to turn into this guy's del Sol where he squirms like a fish on the straights.

In any case, my bro's friend ordered them for my '90 DX. It will be coming in this Tuesday. Is there anything that I need to know? I really appreciate this. Thanks in advance.

I would provide pics of my DX but imagestation is down. I have Instrax springs ( don't know if it's Sport or Regular ) and KYB GR2 shocks. Wheels are Tenzo R Sinko 15x6.5 wrapped with Falken Ziex 205/50R15.
