Default Starting problems?

I have this weird starting problem, well kind of weird on my 1990 HB Si ( ZC Swap). I'm on my second battery already, and I know the cause isn't my battery now or my alternator, I've already done tests on those. But it almost seems as if when the motor is hot it won't start, could it be the solenoid? or does my car even have one? The WEIRD thing is when I turn the key the car makes no noises what so ever, no clicking or the engine trying to start, its either starts or it won't even try too. And my other thought too is that the problem could be on my ground cable on my battery, cause I only have one cable running from my battery to the transmission. I heard I need to have 2 grounds. But if anyone could help me out on this starting crap I'd really appreciate it. Thanx -Dan

you also need to run a ground from your engine to the frame of the car or from the battery to ther frame either way will be just fine but you do need to get that frame grounded

Sounds like the ignition switch not making contact every time. Common honda problem for an older car. You could either pull it out and clean up the contacts, or replace it, 50$ oem. For now, try wiggling the key around and the wheel while starting,(maybe even the ignition wires) this works sometimes.

There should be a ground from your valve cover to the frame.

Thanx alot guys for your input, it means alot. I went and talked to a Honda technicion today and he told me to get a volt meter and test the starter to make sure its putting out the right amount of voltage. So I'm gonna do that and and redo some wiring, and I'll let you guys know how it turned out, who knows maybe while I'm fixing a cause I might find the real problem. Thanx -Dan
