All they need to do is put it in the NSX now

Hmm LS1...
Seriously though, I doubt it would be an engine from another manufacturer, especially if it were to be installed into "flagship" cars, like the RL. What would the public say if it were a GM V8 into what is supposed to be Honda's best technology and luxury car.

Well it's kinda like the CTS-V (I think that's the model name) The LS6 ZO6 motor goes into the Cadillac CTS for the 2004 production line. With a 0-60 of 4.9 seconds, and a high twelve low thirteen quarter mile, that ain't bad at all... I would be sooooo happy to see Honda finally get a great V8 on the market. The technology involved would be killer

honda has worked out an engine deal with GM. as of now, GM(or saturn) is using the honda 3.5l V6 and honda is getting some isuzu diesels for overseas use. i would think the northstar motor would be more likely of a choice for honda. it is dohc, vvti, available with rwd now and very technologically advanced. the new version is in the caddy SLR and there will be a deborred version in buicks(around 4.0l). i think the smaller version would be most likely.

honda has been manufacturering engines (the v6 engines) for many other car manufacturers for years, and with a market demanding more hp, honda will "soon" have to introduce a v8. also, keep in mind that the new TL is supposedly having the same 3.2L v6 but producing 280hp. And rumors of the new nsx engine would be a v8. Altho some speculations of a 3.5L v6 @350hp was to be produced to "jump start the market" before the release of the 2nd generation nsx.
so as for the Rl getting a v8, there is a possibility that the v8 that would be used in the nsx, but would be a detuned and de-'exotic'd v8. this is all rumors tho...

there are also rumors that it will be a hybrid v6 similiar to the dn-x showcar. honda keeps its lips pretty sealed compared to many other automakers.
