EF8 glasstop..anybody done this conversion?
before you jump on me and telling me how i shouldn't do this swap and blah blah blah..well. i'm planning to purchase a crx which the pevious owner decide to install an aftermarket "sunroof" on it. it looks like **** and rather than trying to weld a new sheet metal on it..might as well go glass top right? anyway, does anyone know how much of headache this "conversion" is? like do i have to weld a new roof or i can get by just trying to fit the glass top in somehow?
Jeff-
Jeff-
for me, being broke, i probably wouldn't consider the conversion... but if you got the dough i would say go for it IMO it looks so sweet
i've only heard the rumors, you know that's it's really hard, you have to completely remove the roof weld and do bodywork but i dont know for sure so bump because i'm interested as well

A few years ago, I met some guy that had done the conversion. Although he didn't weld it himself, he said it was pretty simple. Just cut off the old welds and reweld the new top on. He said it was all one piece and that was only welded on in a few spots. Probably a lot like in this thread, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=347202. He said that the hard part was find a uncracked glasstop with the headliner. HTH.
