VAFC II on an '02 RSX type S?
The website for Apexi says it wont work. The website for prostreetonline.com says it's second gen apexi VAFC II will work with the I Vtec. So that where I stand. Anyone have any info on this? Will it work, anybody try that controller on a K20 yet?
wow, that should be pretty interesting. is the VAFC (1) compatible with VTC? i could imagine the SAFC/SAFCll to be compatible, but the the VAFC. could someone verify this please?
That is the whole purpose of the V-AFCII. It was made specifically for controlling iVTEC. I was going to get the unit for my R, but decided I want the Toda exhaust manifold first, so I'm saving for that. The new unit is a very nice piece, as was the previous.

the Vafc will not work. Apexi doesnt have a working vtec controller yet.
Just use that $300 and add extra $300 and get the hondata ecu. 5200rpm vtec to 8600rpms. Now thats promising. Just check around.
People that have hondata have cut .3 - .5 tenths off the 1/4mile

Not exactly, They simply updated the VAFC with a few more features and the ability to control iVTEC as well as VTEC, they also changed the look of it to match their SAFC2 and RSM

To me, that means it was made specifically for iVTEC, as it controls VTEC and VTC. Yes it was updated with higher processing, to go along with the lines of the SAFC2, it can be used with normal VTEC, but it's primary purpose for being made was to control iVTEC.

In Japan I believe that they came out in 2001, however the model year of the first RSX in the states was the 2002. Just because something is sold in the calendar year of 2001 doesn't make it a 2001 model.

OK, I know, another dumb *** thing the states does. Here in Japan, when the car is sold, that is the year of the car, there is no such thing as model years. If you think about it, it is pretty phuckin' dumb. You buy a car in July 2001 and you can call it a 2002. Technically the one guy was correct in calling it a 2001, as that is when the car was purchased. Now to satisfy the needs of the ignorant, use the model year.
