Default What is the part number for the ECU I need? (New Car) (Did a search)

I have a 1997 Civic DX HB and am gonna attempt the minime. Do I need a 96-98 p2p ecu? How do I know if the ex ecu is from an auto or a 5-speed. I have a 5-speed. Also, do I need a wiring harness from an ex or can i piggyback into the dx wiring harness. Thanks for the help guys!

stock motor??

if yes, i believe you need a p2e

you can't use the ex harness b/c it has v-tec and you don't, again that's if you answered yes to the above question.... although I'm not 100% about the harness

http://www.hondata.com/techecuid.html

P2N : 96+ OBD-2 Civic HX Coupe
P2P : 96+ OBD-2 Civic EX Coupe
P2E : 96+ OBD-2 Civic DX Coupe
P2M : 96+ OBD-2 NZ Civic SOHC VTEC
P2T : 99+ OBD-2 Civic Si Coupe

you need the ECU from the head you are using, so if you are using a d16y8 head from a 96+ EX, you need the P2P ecu. I don't believe there is a way to visuall check if it is for an auto or 5 spd, so make sure you check from the person you're buying it from that it is for a 5spd

some OBD-II auto ecu's have four plugs sockets, get one with three, there's no guarantee, but DO NOT get an ecu with four sockets. Well they all ecu's have four slots, but manual ecu's only have three actual plug sockets

stock engine = p2e

minime w/y8, z6..... = p2p
