What does California's Recall Election have to do with Road Racing?
Well, just read the paper today and saw "Jerry Kunzman, Richmond, CEO" on the list of recall candidates for governor. Couldn't believe it. In case you dont know, Jerry is one of the founders and current President and apparently CEO of NASA.
man, he's even got a website already!

This recall election is a complete joke and it's a shame that we are wasting so much money and resources on it. Just about everybody can run. Check these out:

Seriously, this recall election is a complete joke and should never have happened in the first place. Recalls are designed for corrupt politicans, not unpopular politicians. In fact, the only reason this election is taking place is because Daryl Issa's massive monetary contribution, and he was a car thief:

So I guess you're supporting a car thief if you support the recall. I'm voting NO on the recall and should he be recalled, I think that Bustamante is the most qualified since he is the only one with true political experience.

Personally, i feel that experience doesnt mean everything.
Ahhhnold has homies, if Arnold was elected and he didn't know **** and was completely lost, i bet alot of political powers would jump in and help him out.

I am NOT a NASA-basher - heck, I'm limiting my car choices to Hondas to keep HC as an option in my schedule - but his associating himself with this pitiful political sham does nothing but decrease my opinion of the guy who runs the organization. I have subscribed to the NASA Pro Racing listserv for ages but now instantly delete the digests when they appear in my box.
It's freaking embarrassing.

I dunno, Kirk. Sure, the state politics in CA right now are a complete circus. And quite possibly this Jerry's motivations to run for Governor are based in ego gratification and self aggrandizement. But I read briefly through the info on his website and it sounds to me like he just got so sick and tired of how that state is run that he's decided to try to do something about it. Haven't you ever been so sick and tired of something that you just knew that you had to do something about it? I'm not saying that I think he has a snow ball's chance in hell of getting elected. Even if he was, he would be totally ineffective because he's a novice in the political arena. But part of me can identify with this guy, after allowing him a benefit of the doubt or two....

He is unpopular AND many view him as corrupt.
The Issa car theft issue is up for debate. But I don't undertand your argument. If Issa was running and someone voted for him, the argument could be made that the voter was supporting a car thief. But to say by voting yes on the recall is supporting a car thief is not a valid argument.
Bustamante? Experience does count to a point but does not mean you are good at something. To put it in racing terms: Andrea de Cesaris is one of the most experienced drivers ever to race F1, but I wouldn't want him as my #1 driver.

Toyo, Bookler..........
LOL! Best line in months.
Thanks.
I have no dog in this fight, however...... Davis must go and this recall kicks some serious ***. I only wish (We) in the Peoples Republic of Jersey could do the same with, Mc Greeedy.
Cali- How can a state go from Hundreds of MILLIONS in surplus $, to Billions in the hole?
Answer: Place a tax and spend liberal (Davis) in charge and let me go to town.
Shultz voice on... " Good luck with that" ......... Shultz voice off.
John- who pays $8,000 in NJ property taxes every year. Yes 8 Grand. and.. gets ZERO in return.

You don't want to know.
BTW- The entire state isn't totaled.... yet. South central Jersey isn't too bad. However, don't try to buy a house (Kinda like Cali) .... they start 4.5-500,000. Sucks.
Franza- How many lots were left?
