Putting a B16A in my EG hatch. Here's what I got:

B16A engine
P-28 ECU (Can this ECU be modified for stardard transimission? is there a selector?)
Getting tranny but, don't know what to get? Hear u can use a LS tranny but, apparently does not have gear ratio's like a DOHC tranny? Is is still useable? If so, what year would work with the harness I have? Thanks!

 

you can use an ls tranny, but the gear ratio's are long for the money, get a b16 tranny

 

Contact NrG about the ecu problems, he has some info about altering it. Hopefully it'll help you.

So then what year of LS tranny would I use if I went that route? Speed sensor has to match wiring harness right?

not to be a punk but why do you wanna use an ls tranny if i may ask?use a b16 tranny like the dude above said.you dont have to worry about the wiring harness if its a jdm b16a or b16a2 unless its a usdm one.

 

u can use any "hydro" b series trannny

The best -&gt; worst hydros:
1. IT-R 98+Spec with LSD
2. IT-R 96Spec with LSD
3. B16a w/ LSD
4. B18C GSR with LSD
5. B16a non LSD
6. B18C non LSD
7. LS

actually, i think that early spec-r trannys had the same ratios as b16 trannys. anyways, b16 ratios are shorter than gsr ratios. LS trannys have the tallest (read shittiest) gear ratios
