Fifth gear popout, compression readings, VIN, zip code where you/the car is?

 

what do you mean by 5th gear popout? i left him a message to get back to me with the vin and i asked if he ever did a compression reading so i am wainting for that info.... the car is in 07095 area code if i can remember right

The SR20 FWD trannys had issues with the 5th gear synchros taking a crap, leading to 5th gear popout. Shift into fifth, get on the gas, and POP, you're in neutral again. No biggie if it has it, it'd make it back to Baltimore on 4 gears, and i've got a buddy that can rebuild it. Also, any recent service done? Clutch, exhaust, etc? Does it burn any oil, smoke, etc? "Runs and drives" doesn't instill alot of confidence...
