Default 1988 CRX DX - Duel Point Injection Prob

Hey everyone, I got a 1988 CRX DX. My car is pretty stock except the Air Intake and Magnaflow Exhaust. My problem is my car occassionally revs up to 3k-4k RPM usually when I've been driving for a while. I could smell fuel leaking from the front of my car so I took out the Fuel Injectors and the O-Rings were busted. I found some laying around my garage and used those on the injectors - Those have held up pretty fine except it still has the problem of revving. I was thinking of going to the HOnda Dealer and getting an O-ring Seal kit for my car. Even if I put new O-rings on. The Car still revs up w/o me pressing on the pedal. I asked people at Autozone, Kragen Auto Parts and Pep Boys. All they give me are the parts for Multi Port Fuel Injection (A swap I will be doing in a few weeks). Any help is appreciated. Thanks alot.

Possibly a vaccum leak? I would switch over to the MPFI and see if that takes the issue away.... I sometimes smell fuel leaking from my car... But its not leaking fuel because I checked all my lines and i cant smell fuel anywhere along the lines... I think thats its because the gas cap isnt a stock one and that it doesnt seal right so sometimes I get a wiff of gas.... I hope my car doesnt blow up one day...

Good Luck

When I had this problem,it turned out to be the
throttle shaft/seal was worn out and it had vacuum leaking through it..
{I had to use a can of spray carb cleaner to pinpoint the leak}
I swapped it out another throttle body and cured the problem..

Hey again guys - I am going to order the throttle body repair kit but another problem popped up. Now my car starts to kill itself when Im just idling. Like itll bounce down to 0 RPM and up to 200 RPM and constantly do that. I can give it a lil gas (thats pressing it all the way down to the floor) and itll put the car back to normal. Anyone know what is happening to my car? Thanks.

Well I don't know what's happening either, LOL. But both my DPFI CRX's
do the same things you are describing except for the fuel smell.
All I did was coat the IM's with carb cleaner and moved all the IM linkage
around real good and then revved the **** out of them and that seemed to help. Has your car been sitting for a few days? Mine seem to do it more after they've been sitting for a while. So many cars so little time. LOL
