Default OEM shocks/struts; mileage?

Hey all. Just curious how long I can expect my stock shocks/struts to last on my '99 Hatchback. I don't drive it very hard and it's pretty much bone stock.

Many thanks,

Greg

if the suspension is kept stock, then a long long time. your engine will probably go before your suspension.

Holy crap!! I had no idea shocks lasted so long on these cars; I guess I'm used to the older cars that my family has always owned where shocks definitely do wear out.

Thanks for the replies.

My '90 Si had 268,000 miles on it with the original shocks still in it when I sold it. Granted, they weren't like new anymore, but they passed the "bounce" test, and a trusted tech told me there was no need to replace them. It all depends how critical you are about your car's handling. You can replace them every 30,000 miles, or you can just keep running the originals.
