Hi..has anyone run into this before...

I swapped out my 91 HF engine and installed a 89 d16a6 with a 91 tranny, running on a 88 si ecu. No the reverse light comes on all the time. It doesn't matter if what gear I'm in. The tranny grinds in 2nd and makes a grinding noise here and there while the engine is idle. Could it be that the tranny is messed up?
