Default !@#$%^ Alternator bolt!

yes....the dreaded alternator bolt needs to be removed....that POS one that ALLLWAYS seizes (lower alternator bolt)

Does anyone have tricks? I've tried quenching it....but it didnt help....and I lit the belt on fire.....there isnt enough clearance to get an impact in there....I'm considering chopping the bolt head off.

Well...here is the problem:

There isnt enough clearance to get at the bolt from the top....the strut tower is too close to allow a rachet & socket in....so I have to get at it from the bottom....longest arm I can fit is about 2 feet long....even pushing will all my weight against it ...it wont budge

slip a bar over the end of a breaker bar and try that...

and see if you can lay on your stomach and push on the bar that way...you might get a little more leverage...

Ent up cutting the head off with a grinder and then using a center punch combined with a sledge hammer to push the bolt out.
