Default preferred piston rings- 11.5 comp daily driven B16

have some oem honda to go with 25 over ctr pistons, wondering if they are up for the 9500 redline every day. anyone have bad blowby with oem rings? are total seals going to scar the cylinder walls?

with a 10,000rpm redline, your lucky that the only that is blowing by is oil and not your rods, pistons or head components.

the bottom end is all stock. its got a great R/S. sgt on the fourm hit 11,000rpm with a built b18c that has crappy R/S compared to a b16. so im thinking, why is it that everyone thinks 10,000 rpm is so hard to reach on a stock bottom end b16. so i go out with my mission to hit 10,000 rpm as cheap as possible. and 150 dollars later....

the honda compression rings are fine but the oil rings suck. i have a ls with itr pistons with 14000 miloes on motor and it smokes already with a 7200 redline i would go with aftermarket oil rings if i were to do it again

I thought the rod bolts begin to strech above 9500. Did you replace those?

now since this post has been done everyone who reads it knows that a stock b16 bottom is good for at least 10,000 rpm if not more.

So stoke rings are fine except the oil ring. What brand is the best?
