Does anyone know why my clutch fluid from my clutch master cylinder doesn't stay clean? i changed it not so long ago, and its already black.

background info:
-92 civic VX
-changed clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and the upper master cylinder hose to new.

there's a bottom hose to the master cylinder, right? could that be it?

anyone with some info, please help!. thanx.

 

bleed, bleed, bleed bleed, bleed, until your sick of it... then bleed bleed bleed some more... till 100% new fluid is introduced into the system...

 

I just changed my master cylinder, and since I had to drain the reservoir anyway, I cleaned it out. There was a heck of a lot of black gunk resting in the bottom of the reservoir. If I left it in there, I could imagine it would turn the new fluid dark pretty quickly.

when i changed all those parts, i bled my clutch like crazy. i don't think there's any old fluid in the system. but i guess it won't hurt to try again. could there be any other solution? thanx guys.

 

what did you use for clutch fliud? i usually use valvoline synpower synthetic DOT 3-4. stays clear forever, stands up to heat like a ****, and isss good for jOO....

I agree with usuing the valvoline brake fluid.... that is what I run and it is clear too!

 

i first used regular ol' brake fluid when i first changed my clutch, but then flushed, and changed to valvoline synthetic after changing the master cylinder hose....

i have no clue why its still getting dirty....argh

 

Have you replaced the slave cylinder rubber hose? or is it original?

 

what slave cylinder rubber hose? isn't it just a metal line thats connected to it? you're not talkin' about the rubber boot, right?

 

the rubber clutch hose that is attached to the chassis and then to the metal line to the slave.

 

hmm...no, i probabbly didn't. i still can't really picture it right now. i can see the rubber hose that connects the metal line from the master cylinder to the metal line that goes to the slave cylinder...maybe thats it? i'm gonna check it out. i'm pissed that my clutch fluid keeps turnin' black, yo. thanx fo' the info.

 

ok, so i see which rubber hose you guys are talkin' about. i looked it up in my helms, and its just simply called a "clutch hose".

its the hose that joins the two metal lines together from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder.

so i call up three different honda dealers today, to see about how much they go for.

$40!! plus they don't have any in stock.

PLUS: my friend ordered on also, for his 2000 civic dx hatch. guess how much honda wants for it...20 bucks! what the...
