Satisfied with your N/A setup?
I currently drive a 99 civic si with a custom turbo setup. It has a stock B16 and would probably run in the mid 13's. I was considering selling the turbo setup and doing an all motor setup. Might also sell the car and go with a hatch. I know i would need to ditch the B16 either way.
What i wanted to ask you guys is if you are happy with your car? I don't want to spend the money on an N/A setup to run 13's(i'm there with my turbo now and am not happy yet). I would like to be in the mid 12's or faster in a street car on 93 octane pump gas and drag radials. Is that a tall order?
Before i build the motor and stay turbo i wanted to be sure i was happy with my choice. If you had to start over tomarrow would you go all motor again or forced induction? Thanks in advance for any comments suggestions.

ditto!
You have a 99si turbo that runs 13's. It would cost you about a lot more money to get you back into the 13's with the all motor route. Unless your really rich..stick with the blower.

I'll tell you a little story about what I've personally experianced... The motor I had in my car before my current one now was a race built b20vtec with a T4 turbo on it boosting at 16psi on a daily basis (potentially a 10-11 sec car)... Car had more power/torque on the street then I knew what to do with, honostly it sucked to drive on a normal road just cause I could never get traction if I wanted to as well as I always liked the feel of my head flying back into the rear window of my coupe
however the local roads weren't the best place for that... Anyhow, to make a long story short, I ended up getting minor cracks my sleeves so I decided to sell the motor and its internals rather than fixing the block (was my third time reparing the motor, so I was getting tired of always dumping money into the motor to keep it running right)...
I ended up getting a brand new 2000 JDM B18C-R (JDM ITR if you didn't already know) for my 99 Civic Si and doing the usual N/A bolt on's and a few other little things... Yes I know that the B18C-R (thinking as a N/A person now) is this wonderful motor to have, it comes hand tuned from the factory, whoops the **** outta the other factory B-Series motors all in stock form, etc..., "BUT" it sucked going from the fastest street driven coupe in Washington State prolly back to a 185hp motor when first doing the engine swap... Yes the ITR motor is awesome but it sorta sucked as well cause once you've driven boost for a while, N/A kinda sucks in a way....
Now for the real question, would I change anything? Yes and No, I'd go back to the turbocharged setup in a minute "IF" I knew it was going to run as strong and be as reliable as my B18C-R motor is now... My turbo setup was of couse the best experiance to drive, though I hated having to work on it all the time just to keep it running, wondering whats gonna break next. Where as now, I can go out rev, beat, drive the **** outta my car and I know it'll start the next day, so that right there is a HUGE HUGE plus about the N/A world... So was it worth going back to N/A.... I'm happy with N/A, though I miss the huge power of the boost... but in the end, reliablity is a lot less stressful... Yes it costs prolly twice as much money to get a N/A set up to the same times a boosted car is at, though the reliabilty makes it worth it... not really waisting your money if the motor never breaks sorta type of deal.
* Keep in mind though... I firmly beleive once a boost owner, eventually always a boost owner.... I'm thinking about mildly (no huge boost, just 6-9psi) supercharging my B18C-R now :D go figure... low 14's / high 13's isn't fast enough for me anymore.

amen to that!
but if you are only boosting less the 8-10psi daily driven motor and it is completely tuned you should not have any worries what so ever. You'll just have to check all the hose, clamps, lines ect to make sure they are still intacked

If you do go all-motor, just make sure it's in a light chassis.
From what I've witnessed/experienced over the years, people who go all-motor and integra's and coupes never seem to like n/a power as much as people with egs...
Weight is your enemy. Honestly when your in a hatch, all-motor is AWESOME! In a 220whp car you'll be pulling away from big turbo honda's for the first few gears...in a quarter mile street race, you'll probably pull away so many cars from the hole, they'll never catch you before the quarter mile...
Plus it's much easier to autocross an NA car, then a turbo one. NOt to mention the reliability issues of a boosted motor, something is always going wrong it seems..
ALLMOTOR for a light street car!!
Boost for a heavy street car!!

Well put, I had boost, I had fun, I was fast but I had problems. Now im going the all motor madness route, haven't gotten into it yet but im sure it will be a fun ride.
if you llike autocross, all motor is the way to go, but chassis is very important as was stated above, my integra will never be as fast as some of my eg friends, but i stoped trying to be faster in a straight line, and become faster in a corner!
all motor is good in EG EF

Wow i am really surprised by all the GREAT responses! N/A does sound fun. Trying to get that last little bit out of your motor. Not to mention revving to 9-10k. I have already witnessed a 14 sec N/A hatch take out a 13 sec turbo coupe on the street (they raced over and over with the same result). I am still undecided because i love pulling or hanging with V-8's on the highway. If there are any other comments or suggestions please post them. I think my wallet may end up making my choice however (N/A).
Thanks again Mike.
Thanks again Mike.
11.7@115mph The fastest and quickest N/A Full body street car in the country!! Im Very satisfied... I wouldnt trade it for anything right now... but i will sell it if someone is serious with 15k cash in hand the full H22A changeover is yours!! If you think about how much it will cost to have someone qualified to build something of that calliber you will spend way more on parts, and not to mention all the hours of dyno tuning. and trial and error... Just my 2 cents...

How about a milder all-motor setup:
84mm * 89mm
Ported Head
All the Bolt on's
but compression around 11.5:1
and skunk2 stage1 cams...
and a 150shot!
You'll keep up with **** on the expressway!!
Oh yeah, and with my 200whp eg, i pulled away from bolt-on c5 vette's with ease on the expressway...40-130mph!

I'm $3500 deep into all-motor and i'm only mid-low 14's in a 00 Si. Performance per dollar, turbo is much more efficient.
