b20 vtec or gsr
Ok i need some advice form some ppl who know what they are talking about.. unlike the punks in my neighbor hood who are all talk and never did a swap in there life.
I can pick up a fully built b20 vtec all recipts ,je pistons,rods,11.5 compression, ported & polished type-r head no miles on the motor, for 2500
Or i can get a gsr long block for 1300 and build it all my self and i am looking to build the gsr about the same that the b20 is allready built to
Which one would you think would be a better daily driver yet still be nice and fast to spank ppl on the way to work
and how much hp differance do you think there will be?

you'd spend more on the B18, building and sleeving to 2l. I'm really originally against the CRVT but now that I have one, I have to say that I'm really warming up to it. Though the sleeves are looser (read weaker) I'd still go B20 in this case, as long as you know what's done to it... but that's just me. I'm getting tired of plaing in the sand box.

Damn, If I was in your shoes Id be stuck. Butt Id probably go with the GSR just because you would be building it and you would know if it was done right unlike the b20V. If you picked up the b20 and ran into problems im sure it would be hell. Still not 100% on that but **** those are some good deals there.
well if that B20vtec is built RIGHT and by a good builder then I would pick that up. But if it's done but a unknown builder who skills are quesitionbal I would re think about that.
Personally would only go B20vtec if I had lots of money, downtime, a tunner new buy and people to help out.
But because I only have like 1/2 of what i mentioned I would get the GSR long block or $1,300.
-sleeve to 85mm $700-800
-pistons
-rods
-bearings
and your all set.
just my thoughts though... Good luck
