while your sitting in the driver's seat, reach below the dash with your right hand and feel for a button. hold this button for a couple of seconds and the maintenance required light should go away...

light turns on automatically after so many miles, the service department is supposed to reset this when they service the car, but they never do. It's a useless light that doesn't serve any real purpose.
