Default F23 head H23 block

I have an H23 block that has been re-sleeved and then I used pistons made for an F23 since I was building the bottom end of that, but found out the rod specs I got were wrong and no one makes rods for it. I have seen on here a lot of people say the heads are not interchangeable on h and f series, why is that, the head bolt pattern is the same and the pistons I am using are made to match the head, what are the reasons why it won't match up. I have heard of people doing simalar swaps before but can't find info now that I am trying to do it. Thanks for any help. Thanks, Jason.

If it'll all match up, then by all means, go for it.

I don't know if it'll work or not.

ive said a milion times an H head could be put on a F block, hell I've matched them up. the issue is that on the drivers side the H series has an extra set of oil drains outboard:

F:

H:

this problem is easily fixable on the head site, just plug the outboard drain holes, and if you're paranoid dremel some valleys in the head to promote draining. HOWEVER this would be kinda stupid to plug up an H block's outer drain to put an F series head on, IMO. the only H head that interests me on a F block is the H23A1, the vtec heads just need too many rpm's for the f22 to be useful.
