Default RSX Motor in an Integra Type R

Known facts :
1. Yes I am crazy
2. The RSX motor does have the potential to exceed the Type R motor at certain levels.
3. The RSX is a 6 speed.
4. The cost of an RSX Type R motor is the SAME PRICE as the B18C5!!!

So, you knowwhere this is going.

Basically, I may take the Type R and Put and RSX motor in it.....

1. How many of you would be interested in seeing a "project" build of this?
2. Would anyone feel it is wrong to put this motor in the car?

I am not sure I am going to do this. But, it is an option I am considering.......

Thanks for the interest
- Blake

Yeah, I actually just read another post in this forum about the swap....
Interesting.

In fact, the only true problem with the RSX / RSX Type R is the Weight..... Which is what I am working on.....
We already have for the RSX Type R:
Lighter Seats
Lighter battery
Lighter hood and Carbon hatch
Lighter windows
Lighter Doors

And working on:
Lighter roof
more goodies...

Wow, cost of K-series motors must be coming down.

I believe there are already motor mount kits that allow a K-series to mount in an EG/EK/DC chassis. Wonder how difficult the shift linkage is. Wish I could help out with a link or something.

I'd like to see it in a double-wishbone car, but putting it in a car that it won't necessarily improve is kinda wack.

Putting it into a regular 'Teg or an EK would be cooler.

that would be a nice project , plus the motor with few mods makes some good #'s .
theres some work envolve since you have to customize axles , and also the wiring is a pain .
but you should have fun .
this is something im considering doing on the future , running a stock K20 with bolt ons and hondata and making about 240whp is nice ....

Well, that is what it would be called if we got it, so I see no need to confused between our only Intergra Type R over here and the 'other' one.

Why does it even matter so much. Enhance your calm.

The K20 is badass...but I would save it for a car with a crappy motor. Not one that already has near 200hp.

How about an F22 swap while we are at it.....Seriously though. The ITR motor stock is about the same as a RSX minus a little torque...Sure the K and F series will make more power long term in terms of bolt ons....but you have to figure in cost vs. performance ratio. Not to mention that Cable trannies suck in these motors...period! Just .02$

I would like to see this project get completed. Anyone have any links to the EK with a K series motor in it?
