i know a Del Sol isnīt a perfect car for being Race build, but iīll try nevertheless...

whatīs the best way to save weight at the Del Sol?

 

Pull out the passenger seat, sun visors, roof rack.

Replace the cast exhaust manifold and exhaust system with an aftermarket lightweight header and exhaust piping.

Replace the battery with a lightweight unit.

Get lightweight wheels, use multipiece rotors, forged lightweight calipers.

Remove SRS Airbags, Air conditioning, Climate control, ventilation system, etc.

got no pics now. maybe in two weeks, when my spoon n1 is installed..

 

-remove the rear compartments
-take out the spare tire and jack
-remove passenger seat

i'm estimating that's like 50+ lbs u could take out within 30 minutes.

how heavy are american del sols?

mine weight stock 2440lbs...

 

Depending on what trim level that weight is right. There are some peices under that dash that can come out. I think the power stering(if you have it) weighs like 25 lbs. A/c weighs a bunch also.

 

which parts under the dash do you mean?

donīt have A/C

but if power steering is that heavy iīll remove it too...

 

right under the plastic before the steering column was a bar, wieghs like 10 lbs, has four bolts that holds it in. Wehn i did my swap i got tired of putting back in i just threw it away.

I am also working on taking weight out of a roof, i am on a budget and cant afford carbon fiber or the fiberglass ones. i am still working on that right now. Dont know how much would be albe to come out and it not fly off running the 1/4
