Automatic Transmission Problems
I'm not too familiar with automatic transmissions but I'm trying to determine the fault of my 89 Accord LXi. The car has troubles shifting through the gears once it is warm. If I accelerate smoothly you can hear the motor winding up but never releasing the gear and upshifting. Just today after the car had been sitting for a while, I turned it on, placed it in gear and pressed on the gas pedal. The car didn't want to move until the RPM reached 2200, then it began to pickup. What could be the problem with my car? Tomorrow I'm going to check the ATF levels, what else could I do?

sounds like you have a bad set of clutches and the tranny just needs to be rebiult ... but be carfull somtimes you can get a used one from japan cheaper so look around before rebiulding this one
auto trannys for accords from japan are like $350 max!
I sold my old one for $400 here to some kid.
my JDm tranny is still heall nice and strong. I driven a few auto 4the gen accords and they feel kinda sluggish and lagging as for the tranny.
