Difference between final gear and close gears
I ran across it on http://www.aj-racing.com/spoon....html, I am interested for Autox and future track.
I understand that the final gear shorten the gear ratios, unless i understand wrong, but what is the difference between the two?
if anyone wants to really explain the two I would appreciate it too, pros / cons etc..
thanks

I'm no expert but the FD will only drop the length of every gear, when you change up a gear there will still be the same drop in rpm regardless of the FD (if all the other gear ratios stay the same). The cross gear set will actually change both the overall gearing and because it changes the difference between each gear ratio it will also change the amount of rpm dropped/gained between each change. AS to what "Crossed gears" actually means I don't know.
Just read what it says on th link, I haven't really added much to that in my post.

It should be "close gears". But because of the Japanese-English, it turned into "cross" somehow. No offense to the Japanese on this board, but the English skill of people in Japan is very very poor. I've seen a bath sponge that says "Remove Your Horny" on the wrapper. :D
