i went to the track.
i have a 91 std. its gutted and weighs 1980 with a half tank of gas. i went to beech beech bend tonight. i ran consistant...... 21's @ 60mph.
my best rt was .094 on a pro tree. i only noticed that one because the guy at the ticket booth made a comment about it. i looked down thinking he was messing with me and talking **** and i go .09 id that good. he said **** yeah. so i felt pretty good. and my best 60' foot 2.503 the timer went off wrong when i redlighted once. it said i ran a 17.25 and the kid with the 15 made me feel faster after we played with the timing and loosed the alternator belt. so yeah. im done.

My bone stock DX H/B with 155K miles and not one mod at all ran 17.4 in 105* heat. After MPFI and Si head swap it ran in the HIGH 16's, then with a clutch that slipped, even off the nitrous, I ran 15.1 patting every gear I shifted ( full interoir ) and Si wheels.

I dont think he really cares what times he runs he's just trying to see what kind of differences he will see after swapping the motor.
Hey I wasnt trying to talk **** about your times **** I wish I would have done it all with my automatic DX just to see what kind of gains I got when I did a manual and Si swap!!

The Std. is definately a slow car. My friend used to have one, and it could be pouring down rain outside, you could put it on the rev-limiter and dump the clutch and it wouldn't spin the tires. It would bog and go like it was AWD. Almost like a WRX minus lots of torque, and horsepower.
My sis used to have a 90 std with only 60K on it but then she totaled it on the turnpike, right after a new clutch was put in
, I used to drive it, it would hold 90mph in third gear. I liked it alot but she hated. Anyway good times, I guess what do you plan on swaping in it.

My standard can spin the tires a little in first, and chirp them into 2nd, but they ARE worn out 155/80R13s..
I have a B18A I'm building right now, swapping it in, in about 3 weeks. Should be quite a change.
As for the comment about the F350... well, my 6600 lb dodge ram 2500 is way faster than the STD.....for now..

OK my comment about my F-350 being able to beat it was a complete joke yeah its a manual but that thing is pretty slow but it does have a hell of a lot of torque being a 7.3 diesel and all. Its more for pulling not umm racing and comparing a Dodge 2500 to the F-350 is like apples and oranges now say if you were comparing the Dodge 3500 Diesel Ram well then that would be more of a even comparison.

Acually I think it's a great idea!
I'm thinking of doing the same, try to log my progress and see what gives me the greatest gains.
Right now my 90 std hatch is stripped (i'm recarpeting and vacuuming out the 13 years of dust), it just has a driver seat for now, till i get the Del Sol seats in(need rails).
But never the less still would like to give it some runs and see what the out put is.
I have a D16Y8 intake manifold port matched to a GSR TB and a SRI. A D16Y7 head is on the way.The Y7 Cam is being sent off to Crower for a Cam grind. Just have to pick up a few odds and ends for the DPFI to MPFI swap ( SI ECU,SI Dizzy, injector box and the plugs from and SI harness). Also the SI tranny(5spd).I'll probably get a FPR while i'm at it. See what gains this shows and go from there. Next i'll add a new header and custom exhaust and possibly chip the ECU. After that i'll make my final decision wether to continue or focus on my original idea. Ideally I want a B16A , but it all depends on how well the D-series set up runs.

I was lucky, my std came with a D15B2 so it would spin them a bit if I really pushed it.
