Default Flash Flood at Indy SCCA solo2

What a beautiful day for an autocross! first two run groups had great weather, then flash flood. One of the scariest things I saw was an insight in rising water. luckily they moved it just in time. I could just imagine the damage to the elecrical system if it went too deep.

I knew it was bad when I saw my spare tire floating away, so I moved to higher ground.

after sitting in cars for about 2 hrs it let up enough to race, I got first place in dsp out of 4.

It's a blast to race in the rain.

Hmm, the date/time on my camera must be wrong, because the pictures were all taken on the same day.

NWR in Seattle runs a 'Slush series' in Jan/Feb since you're sure to get rained on, but your pictures are just nuts.

Congrats on the first though.

if not for flooding reasons, at least for performance reasons, raise your ride hieght. i guarantee youre riding on your bump stops and pushing in every hard turn, as well as every bump on the road....

I'd fear for all the people running CAIs.

That's my CRX in the pic, flooded up to 5" of water through the floorpan before I moved it because water was about to start coming in the doors (about 1/4" more).

I was there too... and glad I was in my car while the water was running up. I was about 5 spots down from that talon, and would have been soaked. Glad they got the runs in, I would have been pissed to sit there for 2 hours for nothing.

just the tokico full package, shocks with adjustable perch, and springs. I've been slowly raising the front, becuase I do bottom out there. I've got dents in the top of the wheel well where the uca hits. On the rear I've got a big sway bar, and don't think that has ever bottomed out on me. It'd be snap oversteer if it did right? From those pics though, it does look too close. I guess I will raise it some more.

Have you done the brake bracket trick in front? If not, you're definitely on the bumpstops. I should have looked at it...

I've driven my old Integra thru a flash-flood like that.
Doing a suspension swap few months later was really difficult cuz so much (surpringly so) of the suspension componenets (bolts, etc) rusted up.

Maybe since it hasn't been long, you can something now to prevent that?
