Spoon vtec controller. Anyone have one?
I just won a Spoon vtec controller for obd-0 ecu civic/integra sir/xsi. It hooks up with connectors and all, but has anyone used one before? I doubt it comes with directions, but hey I'm a smart guy. Here's what it looks like. I think with my car being lhd and not rhd it may take a little lengthening of the wires of something, but nothing too hard.
**note**I haven't received it yet, these are the pics off the auction.

Its all plug and play. I used to have one with my Spoon ECU, but have recently sold both.
Personaly I think the controler sucks. All you can do adjust vtec up or down and you cant even adjust it that high up. I could only get mine up to a max of 5200 and a low of like 2000. I guess its neat to see the light come on when your in vtec, but other then that is pretty worthless.

I heard almost the same response from someone a few years ago so I decided to buy a Field Boxer Series sfc-vtec controller instead.

How can you tell where you adjust the vtec engagement point at? do you have to turn the **** then go out n run your car or something?

Yeah. I've got one hooked up to my mini-me. the thing I use it for is to get rid of the "lag" between the primary and secondary cam lobes. Does a great job of this. Other than that, I don't think it does fuel or o2 remapping or anything. for the 60 bucks I paid for it, it's a fun toy.
the Spoon controller is very very old. I think its the first piggyback to ever tap in and control the vtec switchover manually. Other companies have since come out with better boxes and more options with (+/-) to the fuel as well.. i.e. Fields, Apex'I.
