Default Did a search, still confused. Help a moron please

looking at potentially dropping a D16A6 in a 91 Civic DX. So far, I need:
- D16A6 + tranny, including distributor
- Si ECU

From what I read on DPFI to MPFI conversions there is some wiring that needs to be changed, but most info related to the ZC (that's a VTEC, right?) and may be different from the A6.
Please help me clarify what is needed.
The car currently has a large hole where the drivetrain should be, but the stock DX harness is there.
thanks in advance.

PS - this is for a road racing application, and I am limited by the rules, which is why I am looking at putting a D16A6 and not a ZC in the car.

use the dx to ZC wire conversion, the zc is not a vtec motor you should be good to go with that

you might want to try to find a SI engine wiring harness and just use that. A lot of AutoX rules consider any engine swap a mod (even a dx to si swap) I'd check with your local club to find out more

Your not going to want to use the Si engine harness. You will use the stock DX engine harness but some of the plugs from the Si harness. If you use the Si engine harness you will run into problems when trying to connect it to the chassis harness.

On another note with Auto-X from the rules that I have seen and well have heard as well you are allowed to use all of the stuff that was available to that particular car onto it so with the DX you can use the Si motor and still run it in the lower class. I am dealing with the same thing with my CRX but I have less classes that I can enter due to it being a 2 seater.

thanks all for the replies.
- this is for road racing, not autocross. I will be technically illegal in SCCA ITA (they can check the VIN, the fact that the car never had a sunroof, and it is "DX blue" - not an SI color). I will run it in NASA Honda-challenge H4 class where this kind of update/backdate is allowed. I can also run it in SCCA F-prod with a couple more safety mods.
- I am looking around for harnesses, and they want around $100 on ebay! yikes. I'll keep looking, and I'll try to check the local junkyard as well. I'll just take the connectors that I need and toss the rest. I guess, I will also need the resistor box for the injectors.

This is my fun winter project. Thanks for the help.

Your best bet and cheapest alternative to ebay is any junkyard. Yeah you need the resistor box the injector clips, the ECU, and the dizzy plugs.
ANY OBD0 honda will work 88-91 tegs, 88-91 civics and crx's,88-91 Accords, I do believe they all use the same plugs and electronics, and resistor box. As long as the car is MPFI and a 91 or older honda it should work.
