Default Fuel pump question - B18C1 in 94 Si hatch.

I've posted this in the hybrid section but haven't gotten any responses yet.

Like the title says, I have a B18C1 in my 94 Si hatch. I still have the stock fuel pump. While driving I notice that when I floor it the car hesitates a bit and doesn't accelerate that much faster than ~50% throttle. I'm wondering if this could be related to the stock fuel pump. If so, what fuel pump would you recommend?
TIA

Use the GSR fuel pump. It bolts right in.

I doubt thats the problem but like he said the gsr pump is a drop in.I have run a b16a with a stock CX fuel pump and CX injectors without problems. If anyone is wondering, when I did my first swap I had a gen 1 b16a and notice the injectors didnt fit my 92 civic harness so i put my cx injectors in.This was back in 00 when i didn know **** hehe.

I plan on turboing the car soon. Would you still recommend the GSR pump?

It's not that there's a problem, it just doesn't feel right when I step on the gas, like there's something going on with the timing. Gas gauge has also been acting REALLY strangely....

hey mang...try the walbro 225 or 255 lph...i think i sent ya the link already
oh yea...you'll need bigger (i.e.RC) injectors unless you are getting injectors with your Turbo Kit...

Cool, do I need bigger injectors right off the bat to use the 255 lph? Do I need the 255lph or the 255lph hp?

Edit: Thanks again for the motor Joe!!

You can use a bigger fuel pump without changing injectors. Sounds like your problem is elsewhere though, possibly ignition.

Look into an earthing kit. Throttle response is supposed to improve a lot from it. Maybe an MSD ignition and new spark plugs/wires..
It's not the fuel pump. I had my stock VX fuel pump in after my swap for like 2-3 months and when I put the GSR one in I didn't notice a difference at all.

well, it depends on what kit you get and how much boost you wanna run on the street...i'm not an expert on boost or all motor setups...still a n00b but i do know that you'll over work the stock fuel pump if you're running a fuel regulator at >40 psi.

i'm so glad that you love the motor...sorry about the incident i should have been more smarter...at least she's running now...

Hmmm, I'll probably throw a GSR pump in there, you think it's the ignition though?

BTW, how's ol' 895 treating you?

I doubt the fuel pump is your problem. You could throw the GSR pump in there, it won't hurt. Start with basics-check cam timing, inspect the cap, rotor wires and plugs, check all of your electical connections-the ground by the thermostat in particular. Check your fuel for contamination (though I don't think that's the problem).

I am loving old #895! I put Hondata in with some RC 310's I had laying around, and the car rips. Going to C_A_T in the morning to dyno-dial in the Hondata and cam timing. Good luck getting your swap to run right.
If you are ever in my area, I could always take a gander at it for you.

I'm thinking I may still be used to the ITR. Maybe that's what a GSR is supposed to feel like. I don't know. I'm gonna drive my neighbors GSR coupe and see how it feels compared to mine. It just feels like it's hesitating at wot and after the vtec x-over.

My problem when I put the GSR swap in was the linear feeling. I was used to driving B16 peak machines, and the linear power wasn't what I expected. I'm down with it now, but sooner or later the GSR manifold's going to be tossed.

Exactly what I'm experiencing!!!

Seems to hesitate when I floor it, and vtec isn't nearly as rewarding as it was in the R. It makes a lot of noise in vtec but doesn't seem to make that much more power than before vtec x-over.

I'd say get the GSR pump, and check your TPS if you're having problems at WOT.

Will a GSR pump fit no problem?

)well if you are turboing the car then screw the stock honda feul pumps defnitly go after market, (I recomend HOLLEY feul pump )and as for your injectors you will defnnitly need to go biger, cause the stock injectors will defnitly blow with all that feul going in, good luck man

couldnt you get a walbro intank pump??

they are extremely good fuelpumps, and mostly used for turbo applications where you have some fat injectors squirting in extra fuel for your extra boost...

I'd think it'd handle alot more than just a b18 swap
