Default What Brand Tires and Sizes to get.

Like the title says....i'm getting tires very soon, and am looking for a set that has good wet/dry traction, long life and a tire that has a good reputation. I'm keeping my stock wheels, so you'll know the wheel dimensions. Also, If anyone has any suggestions or comments on Tires sizes....ex: this size is good, this size sucked, bla bla bla. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yokohama AVS ES 100, 205/50/16 or 205/45/16.

Best all around tire under 100, IMO.

If you've got lots of money, try the Bridgestone Pole POsition S-03's or S-02's (150/tire) or the Goodyear Eagle F-1 gsd3 or the dunlop sp 9000's.

With stock wheels, stick with the stock size tire. A 225/45 might "work", but you're not going to see any traction advantage with it on a 6.5" wide wheel.

How much money do you want to spend? And how do you define "long life"?

Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's suck for cornering. my re92's with 50,000 miles held corners better. they arent bad for straight, but they hop around corners when they should hold.

i just mounted a set (supra 712's), and though they're not the best tire i've driven, they're definitely better than RE92s during cornering and hard braking.

bah i gotta find a cheap place to get azenis in 205/45/16...

I have to disagree. A 225 on a 6 1/2 inch wheel is still better than a 205 or 215.
I would go with a 215/45 or 225/45

Dunlop Sf 901's I liked the way the handled and had a nice lateral grip. Mostly a street tire, dont think it would have had much benifit if I had it at a track.

Check with the manufacture's web site on how narrow your rim can be. For instance I ran 225/50/15 on my stock 6.5". With my 7.5" TE37's I can run 225/45/15. One inch shorter means rougher ride, better response, and 4% shorter gearing never hurts.

i second this. ive had my Azenis for around 20k now and love em! 215/45 is what i run and its just a tad shorter and a little wider than the stockers. IMO best tire for the $$$
