Default Binding front brakes

I know it is a common topic, but my 92 accord front brakes are binding somewhat and I plan to take the calipers out and clean them, but is there anything I should be concerned that would cause the front brakes to bind. Does it mean that I would need new calipers? (Or rebuild the calipers) The rear brakes seem to be fine. I plan a trip to Maine and would like to be sure that the front brakes are operating properly. The calipers are orignal and my car has 170k miles.

Thanks-

Jim

Depends on what you find when you clean them. Make sure the caliper slide pins move nicely. Take a good look at the clips/springs that hold the pads. The pads have to be able to move away from the disk slightly, when you release the brakes.

If you can clean & straighten all that stuff, then you're OK. If anything's beyond fixing then you need a new caliper. As long as you're taking them apart, you might want to put new pads in anyway.
