ecu led stays on after mini-me swap
My ecu led light stays on. I tried another ecu and it turn came on after trying to start the car. Also I'm not getting any spark but I am getting gas and compression. I had the Y8 intake manifold but one of my friends suggested trying the crx SI intake manifold and it didn't work either (I did reset the ECU I had to leave it unplugged for about 10 minutes) I triple checked all the wring that I had to mess with and they are good. I checked the Dizzy and its good and is getting power with ignition, and resistance checks out good for the coil. I have a couple questions before I push the car into a lake.
Is there something that I can hook up to the car and diagnose it to tell what it causing the ecu to throw the light?
The wire harness is pretty crappie; a lot of wires are breaking. I have had to replace a few connectors. I think there is two wires touching somewhere. Does anybody have a wire harness, and what other kind of wire harness can I use besides the crx si?

If your ECU led is staying lit that means that that ecu is shot. If you tried another one and the same thing happened you better find out whats causing you to short out ECU's, or possibly a known good one?? But I would see if something is grounding out the ECU's cause you wouldnt want to stick a 3rd one in there and blow that one as well.
Sounds like u have a lot of wiring to check out because something is definitely wrong. I dont know about the ECU being shot due to the LED light staying on....my experience with that was when my boy had a chipped PR3 ECU and when we pulled the chip out, the LED stayed lit, but when plugged the chip back in, the LED went out. I just thought i would share that with u...
I dont think its the ecu's. If I leave it unpluged for about 10 minutes then plug it back in the ecu light is off (with the inginition switch on) but when I try to start it, the light comes back on. But I can put the ecu in one of my friends car and see if it is still good but I will have to wait till later this week.
Thanks
Thanks
Man, those are some quick replys. I figured most people would be asleep this late.
I think Im going to have to find a helms and make sure each wire is sending the right signal. I probably have a couple wires touching or broken.
