i dont know if my tranny or if its my clutch thats going out..it always grinds going into 2nd and 3rd..everything i take it past 3500rpm...and its really hard just getting it into 2nd during normal driving..and for 3rd u have to put it in nuetral fisrt for it to ingage ..also theres a weird rattling sound coming from the tranny when u left off the clutch to ingage in 1st..sometimes its hard going into 1st on a stop..
any suggestions..

btw..its a d16z tranny

 

it seems like if its just when its hot it might just be waped disc or pressure plate or flywheel. if it does it all the time then its probably much worse. syncros possibly. sounds like ur gunna need a tear down. change the tranny fluid and check for shrapnel in the fluid of there is ur lookin at some bad stuff.

 

most likely its your syncros. But to really be sure Id have to test drive the car. Sorry

Look for fine metal flakes/shavings floating around in your tranny fluid. I think the plug is magnetized to help pull the fragments out of the general fluid flow, so especially check around that.

 

aite..so no one thinks it could be the clutch??
