Default H22 VTEC Gears in a H23 NON-VTEC Tranny

Will H22 VTEC gears fit in an H23 tranny housing?

From what I understand the trannys bolt up to the blocks....Why not just buy a H22 Tranny....or yeah buy a H22 and do it that way, and go boost....or just learn your powerband with the Si tranny

Talked to my honda parts man. The transmission housing has 2 parts. One side of the housing is the same on and H22 and an H23. The side that actually hols the gearing is the part that is different from the H22 from the H23.

Yes they will interchange , I already did it on my car, I had both trannys apart at the same time and they are identical except for the number of teeth on a couple of gears, and its only by one or two teeth on the ones that are changed. Also the final drives and diffs will also interchange, just be sure to set up the propper bearing clearance when you make the swap.

They are not interchangable with the S model prelude or other common F22-mated trannies like from an accord. The H23 tranny might work though, I have not tried it. The final drive is the same though, so the only point would be to change some of the ratios on individual gears. Please let us all know what you come up with!
