LS-Vtec or B16A2 ?
I am planning on buying a new motor for my 97 Civic ex coupe and I was wondering which would be a better way to go ... The hard route of LS-Vtec or should I just go simple and easy B16A2. Please post reasons why so I can learn something while I am at it. Also if anyone has a guide to make an LS-Vtec that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
any motor you choose you will have down time to build it up. i would go with a h22a swap or a type-r, those are the only motors that are worth buying that would whoop *** inb stock form.
why not just ls. i beat a crx with b16, a eh2 hatchback with b16 and my friends ef hatch with b16, this weekend at battle of the imports with intake and exhaust with my ls

i think i might go the ls vtec route....or gsr.....both are great platforms.......its all in the builder with that motor....some people complain about it being unreliable..but with a good setup it can create some serious numbers
TRUST ME GO FOR THE LSVTEC YOU'LL LOVE IT IVE HAD THREE AND IM BUILDING MY FOURTH NOW. BUT IF YOU PLAN ON BOOST AND NOT BUILD THE MOTOR LEAVE THE STOCK LS PISTONS IN IT.
ls vtec is definately worth the money, especially turbo. i would rather get a y8 instead of a b16 if you decide to go with it. but i say ls-vtec.
B16=TORQUELESS
B16=TORQUELESS
it all depends on which route you want to go . but i have too many horror stories about ls/vtec . my advice would be to use the search forum and pick the best route for you .
LS-vtec will be more expensive but is worth the money. But for practically the same price you can get a b20vtec motor. More torque
