Default h22 so cheap ?

if the H22 is one of the best engine for a civic, why is it so cheap ?

I was looking for a b16a2 because it's not crazy expensive, but the h22 is even cheaper ! why is that ?

I'm getting this info from http://www.hmotorsonline.com

30016 - H22A 92-95 Complete Change Over
200Hp 161Trq 10.6 Compression (JDM)
190Hp 156Trq 10.0 Compression (USDM)
$ 2199.00 Plus shipping and handling.

30005 - B16A 92-00 (SiR-II) Complete Change Over
170Hp 113Trq 10.4 Compression (JDM)
160Hp 111Trq 10.2 Compression (USDM)
$ 2350.00 Plus shipping and handling

this is just to compare to the b18c5

30010 - B18C 96-97 (TypeR) Motor, Tranny, ECU
200Hp 134Trq 11.1 Compression(JDM)
$ 4175.00 Plus shipping and handling.

I really don't get why someone would get a slower more expensive engine.. can someone answer me ?

supply and demand!!!!! the b series motors are almost direct drop in for civics. but the H22a is not and requires a lot of modification expensive mounts and a little more work than teh b sereis. thuis people demand the b series more and buy them up so people charge more for motors that people want more.

the h22 swap isn't so cheap either.
if you can afford a 22 swap than you could afford a c5.

why would it be so much more expensive ?
the brakets are 500$ so that's still only 2699$

why would this swap be more expensive then an other ?

ok well then go ahead and do it. if that doesnt seem expensive to u then start the swap with nothing but mounts swap and car. with no extra money and you find out on your own just how "cheap" you think it is

Yeah, I am doing a JDM swap and I am finding that the swap is going to cost me 4500 to get the engine in there bone stock...that includes the engine, mounts and labor. That leaves me with about 1500 to spend on other parts, like a new radiator, lowering springs, exhaust and clutch.

if you did the swap yourself and got the comlete swap including mounts axles intermediate shafts for your generation civic you could get by with 3,000. i broke the 3 grand being at close to 3500. That's with aftermarket items and doing my own labor. and i was being cheap as i could lol. But trust me things will start to add up when you start doing this kind of swap.

im pullin my JDM h22 from my lude in the next day or two to drop it in my 93 civic. i paid 3300 for the lude with the JDM h22 and trans, lightened flywheel, ACT SS clutch, Greddy header, Greddy catback, AEM CAI, Hondata s200, and an extra rechipped ECU. I drove the car home from cali too! This is what else ill need for the basic swap in.
HCP mounts---275 shipped from JDMSHIT.com
Prewired wiring harness from hasport --300
DSS stage 1 hybrid axles 400 or the stage 2's for 700
some other MISC BS i might need ---200?
thats about it. if you got a JDM crate motor from japan, then youll spend more on other MISC stuff such as a USDM wiring harness and whatnot. thank god i got a lude with the motor in it for sooo cheap, much simpler

yea your right its around $2,000 for the engine and $500 for the mounts but then you need to get a accord shifter, accord halfshaft, axles, wiring harness, labor, then if you want a tune up on the engine (belts, water pump, etc....) it adds up but the main thing is labor. if you can do it your self its the best way to go but if your paying for the whole thing to be done, lots of $$.

H22. with all the part required to function correctly wrapped me for about 4100, that included I/E and clutch.... of course I did the swap myself with a friend. The H22 is cheap however the swap is not.
