Default crank and bearing question

ok i spun a rod bearing and it scored the crank journals so i gotta have a machine shop shave it down and make it all smooth again. my question is can i use another set of stock rod bearing from honda ? i mean after they grind it down, will the stock new rod bearing fit or do i like need to get some special made, or just liek a whole new crank ?

thanks

well first of all, i have a question for you. is this a stock more that's getting all this work done? b/c if so i highly suggest not going thro that much hassle and just replace the motor. even if its a b16.

as far as the bearings go, you are going to have to look up a color code for them based on how much the machine shop takes off you crank.

its an ls. i normally would get another motor, but i live in hawaii and its really hard to find motors here, and to ship a motor here is price because i gotta pay the price of the motor then shipping to hawaii. but the guy i bought the motor from is gonna pay for it so i dont gotta worry about the costs, as long as its under 400

can u tell me more about this color code thing for the bearings and stuf

well basically main bearings are assigned a color based on thier thickness. you would have to look up the right color you need based on how much material the machine shop takes off. the machine shop should be able to tell you. if not call honda parts dept.
