D16y8 question
I heard that it was not possible to place headers on a D16y8. I am pondering on the question seeing all the posts, and it still remains, is it possible, and if so, what types of headers are best. Also, what is the hp gain with this install?
Headers implies that the engine takes 2.
Honda I4 engines use 1 header.
There are many companies that make a header for the D16Y8.
I currently like many other of this board am running with the
DC sports 4-2-1 header for the Y8.

Does the DC 4-2-1 for the Y8 bolt up directly to stock cat?? I assume it does, just want to make sure.

Don't remove the cat, It will make your exhaust ruin the environment, and it stinks like a **** from what I here. If you have OBDII, I also have read that there isn't a good aftermarket cat that can withstand how hot it gets with the OBDII. They all start breaking up inside and rattling and crap.
So stick with stock cat

Will it be louder then the stock header? The only reason that I ask is because I have a rear section setup with a stock header and it is not loud at all.. and I wasn't sure if it would make a difference.

Yep, same one I use.
I also had the DC Sports 4-2-1 but sold it when I went turbo. I had no complaints about it; when I sold it, it was in mint condition after 10000 miles, so the quality was really good. I also noticed a lot more top-end pull with the DC Sports header, an AEM CAI, and A'PEXi N1, but it was all top-end. Low- and mid-end really seemed to lag. I now have the A'PEXi header, and it's also a really good header. Not as good as my old turbo kit, but the quality is outstanding.
