Sometime when engine is hot,
the car would not start, but if I wait 5 minutes later, it starts and ran just fine. The mechanic says the dist. unit needs to be replaced? How would the dist. unit have something to do with this occasionally starting problem? Also, do I need to replace the whole unit or just a few parts? By the way the car is '92 Accord with 170k miles.
Thanks.

Hi- I wrote this before I saw the forum thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=587641 - car stalling 91 accord>> ITS MY MOMS!!! **PLEASE HELP**. It sounds veru much like my problem - I replaced ignitor a year ago and it looks like that I will need to replace the relay assembly this time. Any feedback :-)
Thanks.

sounds like the main relay, try replacing that. this is common on 4th gens, and hard to diagnose. ive heard tons of ppl having problems like that, and replacing everything, only to find out it was the main relay
Thanks.
I checked Honda dealer's price for the relay and it is $53. I think it is a bit high but Honda parts online sells it for $44 plus $5 shipping for the total of $49... For 4 dollars more, it looks like that I will buy one from the dealer.
Thanks.

Hi all-
Update:
I grabbed a new relay assembly from a dealer for $53 and installed it - since I do not have curise control unit, it was a pretty easy job (15 minutes). To my surprise, the engine ran better than before that I had to adjust the idle speed down. (I am still not sure if it has something to do with the relay because I cleaned the throttle body with carb. cleaner right before I installed the relay.)
Thanks to you all on the forum - it saved me time and $$$$.
