Part #s (ran search)
OK, here's whats up:
I've got a box of various OEM honda parts from the previous owner in their original packaging sitting in my garage right now. It's mostly bushings. and small stuff. Is there a site I can just look up what the part #'s are? I tried hondaautomotiveparts.com is there any other sites that could tell me what exactly the part is if I give them the #?
Thanks.

Usually the middle 3 letter/numbers will tell you what its for. PR3 1st gen B16-P60 2nd B16A, PR4 B18A. P28 D16Z6. PM6 D16A6, PCT CTR, P73 ITR, P72 GS-R. I know it sound like just going by ECU's but it also works for most parts. Even my CTR crank pulley had PCT as the middle set and that the piston code and ECU code. Another idea is just search google or yahoo for the part #. That will work alot of the time. Hondaautomotiveparts.org will list there part # until the order is finalized then it will give you the accual part #
list the p/n and i can get you what they are for.
also, i thought hondaautomotiveparts.com allows you to search on honda p/n to get results...

This is only partially true; It is more complex than he makes it sound although he is mostly correct.
It depends on "the origin" of the part and I don't mean "geographical".
I mean which part, for which car in a specfic generation or model line or year. And where in the car they go. Some parts swap over if they are used
in different cars models or trim levels. Example ALOT of parts for an 88-91 CRX DX are PM5 not PM6 which is the CRX SI part # code. But you can find PM5 parts on a CRX Si if they were carried over., Or on the Hf.
And that's just for drive train parts. Certain body or interior or suspension 2G CRX parts are SH2 or SH3. There are 2G teg body parts coded SK7
so that's just a little primer on sorta how the part #'s work. The "PM" #'s are drive train. The S #'s are non-drivetrain. And there are other breakdowns within the groups as well.
