Default antenna mast removal

I tried unscrewing the special nut and pulling it out while the radio turned on, but it wouldn't budge. I took it apart and now I'm stuck. I can't remove it from the tube. Has anyone removed the mast from a 92-96 prelude before? How do you remove it? Here's where it's stuck:

Thanks,
Brad

Ya I removed it from the motor assembly. The white part on the end of the mast gets stuck inside the metal tube when I try pulling it out. Is it just the silver mast that comes out or does any of the black part come off as well? How hard did you have to pull?

im having a hard time remembering i did this when i first got my lude, if you look at antenna repair kits on ebay you can get an idea of what the completed non borken parts are supposed to look like. why are you taking the antenna apart any way? i think something is jammed in the tube, sorry im not much help.

I have the replacement antenna that I got off ebay. I wasn't able to pull out the antenna like the instructions said so I took it apart. I was pulling so hard that it was lifting the rear suspension up, I was afraid it was going to dent up the quarter panel. I can move the metal mast itself freely up and down the tube, it just gets caught on the white part on the end.....???

Yeah my PWR antenna is Fu@ked too due to the frozen tundra called Maine I think (ice)....so I just have it manually pulled-up like 16in...

On my old accord I removed it + replaced it w/a ghetto black Radio shack antenna that was about 16 in long and I angled it at a backwards angle (not best reception).

So I was thinking of pulling the broken pwr one & replaceing it w/something else.

Anyone used the Honda Insight (similar to Jetta/Focus one) or 'stubby' S2000 Antenna on a 4th gen Lude...or any gen for that matter? Does it look good? and for the Stubby S2000 one - does it get good reception?

Thanks...
