I'm pretty sure there's B16 belt and a different belt that applies to B18.

B16 and B18 are two different belts, so the wrong belt is a possibility.

Nah, those belts stretch out...tried re-using one that had low miles and the belt wouldnt tension enough.

Would you recommend OEM over a PE belt?

I figured out the problem... wrong water pump was used

It's a DART block with B18C PE belt and it WAS an LS water pump... I've since changed it to a VTEC (ITR/GSR) water pump

DO NOT USE OEM BELT WITH TODA"S.....the teeth will fly right off.
even with the PE belt i will be changing it every 15-18,000 miles.
I still constantly check it like 2wice a week.

I didnt say the Toda or PE timing belt is the worlds best timing belt!!!!!!
but with Toda's(B's), youre gonna strip that belt if its OEM. if you havent , your lucky.
i have B's, i know lots of posters and people who have stripped their timing belts because of the B's.
i don't get hostile on the net guy. so relax. do what you want. its your motor, i dont give a ****. if i have the cash to buy a $150 belt ..hey thats me not you...so dont worry about it. chill.
